System Reset

For over twenty five years, a quiet galaxy has awaited those curious and determined enough to explore it. System Reset is a reimagining of that same universe - a faithful recreation of the cult classic Noctis IV, rebuilt using the original codebase and the Godot engine to preserve its vast, untamed mystery.

As a Felysian and pilot of the Stardrifter, you’ll wander a galaxy of stars, uncharted worlds, and hidden wonders. There’s no combat, no grand objectives - just you, your ship, and an infinite cosmos to uncover at your own pace. Each planet, each discovery, carries the echoes of countless explorers who’ve traversed this same universe for decades.

System Reset attempts to authentically recreate Noctis IV in Godot. It uses a Godot GDextension, which itself is based off of a modern sourceport of Noctis IV, for most of its underlying universe generation code, which means it’s potentially about as accurate as a project like this can be! If you’re looking to play Noctis IV today, this should (eventually) be the way to do it!

This project is currently in Beta. Many of Noctis IV’s features have been implemented, but they may differ slightly; for example, planet generation isn’t fully compatible with Noctis IV just yet; some planets - like Felysian worlds - don’t have all of their sectors represented accurately.

Fun fact: the first version of System Reset was released on December 24, 2024 - exactly 20 years after Alex gave me permission to release mods of Noctis IV!
